Scala works on any iPhone, but the experience depends on your device. iPhones with a LiDAR scanner (iPhone 12 Pro and later Pro models, iPad Pro 2020 and later) can use the full LiDAR room scanning feature for automatic measurements. All other iPhones can use Scala's manual drawing tools to create floor plans by hand.

Scala uses Apple's RoomPlan framework with LiDAR data to generate measurements. While results are generally within a few inches of actual dimensions, accuracy depends on room conditions, lighting, and surface materials. We always recommend verifying measurements on-site before making professional decisions.

Scala supports multiple export formats: PNG and JPG images of your floor plan, PDF measurement reports, full detailed PDF reports with room statistics, and CSV data with your room measurements. Each room scan is exported individually.

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your iPhone's Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Scala. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. Apple handles all billing and refunds.

Yes! Each room is scanned and saved individually. You can organize scans under projects with a shared address and project name, and export each room's floor plan and measurements separately.

All scan data is stored locally on your device. We don't have servers or cloud storage — your measurements, floor plans, and photos stay on your iPhone. This means your data is completely private and under your control.

For best results: scan slowly and steadily, ensure the room is well-lit, keep doors closed during scanning, avoid highly reflective surfaces (like large mirrors), and try to capture all walls by walking the full perimeter of the room. Smaller, simpler rooms tend to produce the most accurate results.

Scala can export room measurement data as a CSV file containing wall dimensions, floor area, ceiling height, and other metrics. This structured data can be imported into spreadsheet tools or used as reference when entering data into claims software like Xactimate.
